Decorating the Bathroom

Bear with me on this one, I promise it will make sense!

Today when my dearest roommate left for school I woke up had a shower and then promptly fell back into bed and slept for another hour.  With the new rejuvenation (and a chocolate cinnamon roll that M brought me) I was ready to face what was left of the day! For a while now I have been thinking that I need to clean the bathroom, but with my papers I was thinking that I really didn’t have time (the fact that I could have done it as one of the activities while I was avoiding my papers is null and voided in this situation :P) Anyway, with my newfound energy, I decided to clean the kitchen (with help) and the Bathroom. It is now luckily all sparkly and shiny!! But wait, how is that decorating the bathroom? Easy, after the cleaning I thought that I should do some homework, having got an extension (not personally, the whole class did) on one of my papers I did not want to work on that. Lucky me though, I have  a German test next Tuesday so I figured I would write out a couple study sheets! My prof last semester told us that you should write out the things you need to remember and post them on the bathroom wall, and thus I decorated my bathroom with German Study sheets.
Now I am getting an English grammar lesson from my Austrian friend. Oh the joys of studying abroad!

Cheers,

Tiny
See the lovely papers!

This just proves it is in the bathroom!

I'm very happy about the nice,
clean white toilet!

This was on the wall of a friends
bathroom, and I couldn't
help but think about it when writing
this post! Ah MacGyver!

A link that supports my opinion: Grammar Sheet
(reported speech is explained at the bottom)

Next time you can give me a German grammar lesson.

  2. That's quite an extensive study list you've got beside the toilet....;-)

  4. Preli, I'm not saying that you are wrong, I'm saying that the written system of language is a flaw that is preventing it's natural evolution. Meaning that even though the 'had' is there it is either replace with a contraction, or with a glottal stop that replaces the H. (I have M laughing uncontrollably on the other bed at this incredible proof that I am in the correct major) ;)

  5. 1) I never accused you of saying I was wrong. However, you seemed a little bit suspicious about it and wanted to make be believe both versions are correct.
    2) In my opinion the written system is not preventing the evolution of language. The language evolves anyway, but the written system does not match it a 100% anymore.
    3) A contraction with the had would be correct here, but you know I am not allowed to use contractions and you are mixing spoken and written English here.
    4) Let's just say you didn't think of it and neither did I (or M)
    5) Sorry, but I had to make a long comment, which sounded intelligent, to make people believe I knew something about this topic ;)
