I know I know, I haven’t written anything in a while, but I have a good reason I promise. I was in Ireland! J M, E, P, A(from Taiwan) and L’il Bro all went to Ireland together for ten days during this break. It was totally amazing. We had a ton of fun and laughed a lot and added a whole new meaning to the words Road Trip. This will be a long post so I will try and break it up, and also I may have to split it into two parts as well, but I hope you enjoy!
Day 1:
So the first ‘day’ of our trip was pretty easy, we did laundry and went to the airport and flew to Ireland, where we stayed at a place that was close to the airport, because we got in late.

Day 2:
P and M went and got the car while the rest of us all waited and checked out of our hotel. When it first arrived we wondered how we were going to get all six of us and all of our luggage in it, but it worked. We mostly stayed in the same spots the whole trip, so I got very comfy with the bags in the back. (I liked it back there) Once we were all packed we jumped in the car and headed off. We decided to go to Blarney (south of Ireland) and on our way we stopped at the Rock of Cashel. It’s not a rock, or a castle, it is actually a fortress, and it was pretty awesome. There were rocks to climb on and an old cathedral to look at, and we got the first taste of the weather for the rest of the trip. Windy and a little wet (or a lot wet in some cases). We wandered around for a while and also did a tour and then it was onto Blarney. That was a lot of fun and the B&B that we stayed at was a really nice place. We were all happy that there were heated blankets. We got to the pub in town for supper, where we had the first Guinness of the trip (but not the last) then back to bed for some greatly needed rest.

Day 3:
We started the day with an amazing Irish breakfast and lots of talk, and a shopping trip. It was good because I was able to get a second sweater, which I needed as I had only brought one thin one and one larger one. Then lunch, and then we got to do the thing on my list, which was to kiss the Blarney stone! It was so much fun. I have pictures and a video. You have to do this crazy backwards upside down thing in order to kiss it. It is supposed to make you a better speaker, but I am not 100% sure that I believe that (my speech got worse and worse on the trip!) We also walked around the grounds for a bit and then onto our next location. Killarney, in the south western part of Ireland. That B&B was also nice, but a little hard to find (they had warned us about that) and we had a lovely supper at the local bar. Then to bed. (we had been driving for a really long time that day)

So much fun!!! |
I’m going to stop here and hopefully get some more done in the next post, but it may be a while until I get there, because my Gma and Aunt are here for a visit.
Until Later,
Tiny
